The year 2010 so far has seen a lot of launches in every sector, especially smart phones and multi utility devices. Apple the software giant too came out with a series of launches involving the much awaited Apple iPad, and the iphone. Both of these have certain similarities. . For instance these devices share a common application store with almost identical applications. The only difference for the application part is that iPad is Apple’s first device to use the iBookStore, an e-reader application. Talking about the Apple iPad, it is a touch screen tablet PC, which defines ultra-portability with a half inch thin body, a 9.7 inch display, weighing a meager 1.5 pounds. This device is available in 16, 32, and 64 GB memory specifications, with the host of connectivity options including Bluetooth, 802.11n WiFi and optional 3G.
The Apple iPad also features a keyboard dock, which connects underneath in the portrait orientation and offers a manual keyboard. It runs on a custom 1GHz Apple “A4″ chip processor, which is a must have for this multitasking device. The device integrates a 10-hour battery life and a month of standby, which for that matter is pretty good. Apple iPad supports a resolution of 1024×768 for VGA out along with a 480p composite out through the dock adapter cables. A camera attachment kit is further integrated to import photos from your camera via USB or directly through an SD card reader. The other most awaited device of the software giant is the 4th generation iphone. It features multi-touch OS-wide, and integrates a couple of new options for the application running through the background to enhance the multi tasking.
The 4th Generation iphone features a Dual core processor with a bigger RAM size to increase the processing speed, and to integrate more PC like functionalities. Graphical and user interface changes, are the other changes which would supposedly initiate user friendly navigation. It is also presumed that the 4th generation iphone will sport a larger OLED display coupled with a 5-mega pixel camera. The camera as is rumored is expected to be front facing, which has been the much required change. This is what we also expect, as Apple had earlier applied for patent for a front-facing camera. Iphones have always been selling like hot cakes, and this one too promises to grab a lot of attention.
