Download Software iOS 401 for iPhone 4 3GS and 3G
Apple has announced releasing a new software update for popular iPhone 4, and that new firmware solution, iOS 4.0.1 (8A306) for the iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G. This new update addresses the reception issue which is experienced when the phone is tightly griped in the left hand. That forthcoming update is expected to include a number of fixes that go beyond the reporting of signal strength on the iPhone.
According to Apple web page, the new iOS 4.0.1 software update for iPhone comes with various fixes and improvements, including the following: “Improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.” At the same time, Apple notes that “This update contains security content originally included in previous iOS Updates.”
The cosmetic software fix, however, does not address antenna issues that some users have experienced specifically with the iPhone 4 hardware. Apple is expected to reveal its reaction to that issue at a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday.
To update your iPhone to iOS 4.0.1, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone with your computer via USB and start iTunes. You should now see a message as shown below. Simply click on “Download and Install” button to get on to the new iOS 4.0.1 firmware.
iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS come with full support for iOS 4.0.1, while iPhone 3G, although supports the solution, does not support all the features included in it, such as multitasking and wallpapers, though it seems that even these can be enabled.
Apple has also released iOS 3.2.1 for iPad, addressing a number of issues including Wi-Fi connectivity issues as promised in an Apple support document posted several months ago:
OS 3.2.1 for the iPad, according to Apple, includes a number of fixes:
* Improved Wi-Fi connectivity
* Fixed an issue that could prevent copy and paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail
* Addressed an issue that could cause video playback to freeze
* Improved reliability of video-out when using iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter
* Added Bing as an option for Safari\’s search field
iOS 4.0.1, is already available for download now. a new software update for popular iPhone 4, and that new firmware solution.

This is a less-expensive equivalent to the Apple Component AV Cable. It works as advertised, even on the iPhone 3G and 3GS (where a lot of the cheaper, knock-off cables will not function at all). You just plug it in to your HDTV, and connect your iPod/iPhone, and all your music and videos will play on the TV.
A few items of note:
* I think Apple’s cable comes with a wall charger. This cable supports being plugged into a charger, but does not actually include one. If you need a charger, it’s probably work the extra expense to get the official Apple unit.
* The audio/video portion of the cable is 6′ long (I believe Apple’s is 10′). The charger portion is detachable (it’s just a mini-USB jack) but the included mini-USB cable is much shorter, only 2′ or so. Fortunately, either a USB extension cable or a longer mini-USB cable are very inexpensive.
* The iPod doesn’t snap in quite as snugly as a real Apple charger cable. In practice you may need to wiggle it a bit to get everything to connect. But once it’s connected, no problem.
Anyway, I was buying two cables (one for each TV) so I was practically able to get two of these cables for the cost of one Apple cable. (Not quite, but close.) So I think I got a good deal. They work great overall and the price was right.

I thought that this was going to work and it did not. I tried it with my Ipad, iPod Touch and iPhone 4G. It did not work. My friend tried it this her iPad and iPhone 3G and it did not work. I contacted Mfgr and all I wanted was an exchange. They said it should work. They refuse to replace this piece of junk.
I have no complaints about the seller, they are fine. I wish I saved the packaging so I can return it to them. The Mrgr’s support is of no help and they refuse to stand by their item.

This is a great cable. It is made very well and has the feel of quality. I have not used the apple version and have no need to. I have an Ipod Touch 3gen and the component out is nice. Great price too.

Works on my iPod Touch 2g just fine. Solid connectors with little rubberized strips that help with gripping when unplugging.
Kinda more than i wanted to pay for such a cable, but hey, I don’t know the amount of R and D that went into developing it.
