The Apple Ipad And The Future Of Mobile Technology
The Apple Ipad And The Future Of Mobile Technology
The Apple iPad may very well launch us into a new era of online entertainment, news, and shopping. While many say that the iPad is perhaps a large version of the iPod Touch, there is no denying that many people are excited for the release. Much of this excitement is not without reason as the Apple iPad boasts online capability, video playback, and iBooks, just to name a few. Perhaps the most exciting feature, according to Apple, is the device is ready to go out of the box.
Many experts are excited declaring the iPad will help pave the way for mobile devices in 2010. However, the release is not coming without criticism. Among the most popular is the lack of compatibility with Adobe Flash, no TV subscription service, and even its name.
Even with its controversy, the iPad has generated a substantial amount of positive buzz. Many businesses are already designing accessories and developing apps. Some of the most anticipated accessories are iPad cases or skins that allow protection and decoration. Many of the popular iPhone case manufacturers will be release iPad cases soon. There are also news and media apps such as the New York Times application.
The Apple iPad boasts a 9 price tag so it will be interesting to watch initial sales of the iPad. Additionally, the iPad is going head to head with the Kindle so expect to see some tough competition and select incentives.
The iPad is coming. It will shoot mobile technology forward spawning clones and add-ons such as iPad cases.
The iPad becomes far more usable as a device for typing and dictation when you load Dragon Dictation and place it into the Apple iPad Case

I got this case when they first offered it for $4. Yes, $4. It’s a great value at that price. The construction seems pretty solid, and it has some padding in it so you can confidently toss it down on the table (or wherever). The tab holds it closed very well, but i leave it tucked behind the ipad most of the time, because it flops around and gets in the way.
The biggest design flaw is that the corner anchor covers the power button. But it doesn’t apply enough pressure to accidentally press it when you jiggle it around (and you can still press the button through it), so it’s not a real problem.
I have a feeling they started this case at a low price to get it out in peoples’ hands early, and get some reviews of it, then they’re going to keep slowly jacking up the price as more and more people buy it. If this happens, I should point out that I would be happy with this case up to about $20-30. Beyond that, I would take some time to consider some of the others out there (though this might still be a winner among others at or beyond the $30 mark).

I’m highly disappointed in this purchase. Have had it less than two weeks, and it’s already buckling and creasing and refusing to stand up in landscape mode. Worse, it appears to be suspiciously-identical to the M-Edge executive cover, but with much poorer quality.
I own two M-Edge covers, one for a Kindle and another for a Kindle DX. They’ve both had over a year of hard use, and look just about as good today as when I bought them. The leather is creamy and glowing, the kindles are secured and protected, and I have no trouble propping them up so I can read my books.
When I compared this cover to my M-Edge Kindle covers, it seemed virtually identical in design. But not in quality. After less than two weeks the so-called “leather” is bulging and wrinkling, the edges are scuffed, and the inner supports have started to wrinkle and crack. I can see breakage of the elastic threads in the parts that secure the top of the iPod. The cover itself is no longer straight and flat, but is starting to curve out and away from the iPad–and now it will no longer even support the iPad in landscape mode, but tries to flip the iPad face-down on the table whenever I prop it up.
Whatever is inside this thing is neither leather nor durable nor properly engineered. Sure, it’s got a bargain price, but I guess you really do get what you pay for.
I only bought this because the M-Edge units weren’t available yet–but once the budget permits, I’ll be ordering a REAL M-Edge case for my new iPad.

This case is well-constructed, with tight, even stitching, a good fit, and a protective, suede-like interior. The color is slightly lighter than what I expected from the picture, but the case is still attractive. All in all, a pretty nice, functional product.
I only have one problem with this leather iPad case.
It’s not leather.
I’ve worked with premium leathers for years, and even studied to be a saddle maker, though my career path took me in a different direction. This is a “leather-like” case. Had it been labeled as such, I would have gladly paid this price anyway. However, thinking I was getting one thing, and getting another, leaves me feeling… jilted.

Super slow shipping, Poor customer service response (one sentence no greeting no apology) the item is three days old, the stitches are coming loose and the cover appears warped. It’s complete garbage! You’d be crazy to buy from crazy digital.

I ordered this iPad case to have something to protect it in my backpack and to use as an easel while watching movies. It looked good at first, although the front cover was a bit flimsy. The iPad fits into it well enough, although one of the top straps does partially cover the power switch on the top of the iPad. But then the disappointment began. After a few days I began to notice the top cover begin to warp and curl, just like a book that has been soaked in water and left to dry. I know that hasn’t happened to it and the humidity is very low here in Arizona this time of year.
Looking at the other reviews for this case, I see a couple of new reviews from people who are having the same problem, so I’m not alone in seeing this happen. I guess the case will still do what it was intended for but it certainly doesn’t look like a quality leather product anymore.
